IBM Develops New Computer Chip With One Million ‘Neurons’ That Act Like Human Brain!
IBM has come up with a brilliant advancement in the technology market. They have devised a computer chip that is expected to function just similar to the human brain and thus can be a great tool to progress on the path of the ‘artificial intelligence’. They name the chip to be “TrueNorth”. Due to its unique property that helps it to ‘figure out things’ in the proper way on its own, it is termed to be the first ever made ‘neurosynaptic computer based chip’. There are almost one million number of neurons in the chip and therefore it can be able to produce and withstand the similar amount of power as that a supercomputer could produce into a circuit that would be as small as ‘postage stamp’.
As per the reports and views given by the experts, they term this new advent of technology to be as large and demanding as it had been during the advent of the supercomputers in the technology market for the first time, in the year of 1980. On asking Horst Simon, who is the ‘deputy director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’, he expressed his views to the New York Times. He has termed this to be one of the most remarkable achievements for the IBM as a manufacturing company as well as for the market as a whole. He further claimed this chip to be very useful in terms of ‘Scalability and low power consumption’.
Unlike the other ordinary processor of modern age, which are built up of a maximum of ‘1.4 billion transistors’ and have a power consumption capacity of about 140 watts, this magic chip made by IBM had been built with about ‘5.4 billion transistors’ and can consumes power of only 70 mill watts. Thus, all these advantages make this processor to be ‘incredibly efficient in its purpose’.
This chip is meant to work in a proactive way to such a level that is even beyond our imagination. Just similar to the brain, the TrueNorth is supposed to use the neutrons that are closely interconnected. Also, the chip is the parent for almost ‘256 million programmable synapses’ which is the largest number put in a chip designed by IBM so far.http://aartiinformatics.com/technology/ibm-develops-new-computer-chip/http://aartiinformatics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/IBM-Develops-New-Computer-Chip.jpghttp://aartiinformatics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/IBM-Develops-New-Computer-Chip-300x300.jpgTECHNOLOGYfuture technology, ibm news, new technology, newest technology, technology advances, technology news, upcoming technologyIBM has come up with a brilliant advancement in the technology market.
